Idriss Qibaa, the operator of the service Unlocked4life, which specializes in manipulating social media accounts, recently appeared on the ‘No Jumper’ podcast, where he openly bragged about extorting users. This revelation has prompted an immediate investigation by federal authorities, and Qibaa now faces serious charges.
Unlocked4life Service and Podcast Revelations
Unlocked4life was marketed as a service capable of banning and unbanning accounts on popular platforms such as Telegram, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat. However, during his appearance on the ‘No Jumper’ podcast hosted by Adam-22, Qibaa admitted to exploiting users by locking them out of their accounts and charging fees for reinstatement.
Qibaa boasted about having over 200 clients who pay him monthly to maintain access to their accounts, claiming earnings exceeding $600,000 per month. The podcast host, Adam-22, highlighted the exploitation users faced, recounting stories of stars repeatedly paying to recover their accounts.
Qibaa targeted high-profile individuals and frequently locked users out of their accounts over personal disagreements. According to a criminal complaint, there are at least eight known victims of Qibaa’s extortion activities.
Victim Accounts and Threats
One victim, referred to as J.T. in the complaint, was quoted $4,000 to $5,000 for a username. After declining the deal, J.T. was locked out of his Instagram accounts with significant followings. Qibaa demanded $10,000 but settled for $8,500 to restore access.
Qibaa’s interactions with victims escalated to threats of violence, including personal information disclosure. Unlocked4life not only hijacked accounts but also sold personal information, including Social Security numbers and addresses.
The service offered “TLO,” which involves doxxing someone by posting their personal identifying information online. Qibaa spammed victims with thousands of threatening messages, demanding payments to cease attacks.
His targets extended beyond high-profile individuals to those who had crossed him personally, including his dentist and realtor. The dentist received over 700 threatening messages, and the realtor faced racial slurs and harassment.
FBI Investigation and Legal Implications
Qibaa, also known as “Dani” or “Unlocked,” discussed the impact of social media on his life during the podcast, ignoring the damage inflicted on his victims’ careers and lives. He claimed those who disliked him were no longer active on Instagram.
The ‘No Jumper’ host concluded the interview by expressing anticipation for the consequences of Qibaa’s admissions. The fallout is now evident, as the FBI has launched an investigation into Qibaa’s activities.
The investigation suggests probable cause that Qibaa violated Title 18, United States Code, Section 875(c), concerning interstate communications with intent to extort. He faces potential penalties of a hefty fine or up to 20 years in prison for the crimes admitted during the podcast.
